Everyday Life Depletes Electrolytes (Not Just Workouts)

It’s a myth that only athletes need electrolytes. In reality, we lose them all the time — not just through sweat, but also through:

  • Air-conditioning & heating – both dry out your environment and increase water loss.

  • Stress – high cortisol affects how your body holds onto magnesium and zinc.

  • Caffeine & alcohol – both act as mild diuretics, flushing water and minerals.

  • Warm climates – higher baseline sweat rates mean more daily sodium loss.

  • Basic movement – even walking to work, commuting, or doing chores contributes.

This is why fatigue or low energy can creep in even if you “drink enough water.” If electrolytes aren’t replenished, hydration doesn’t stick.
